Expanding and growing this website…
Posted by: | CommentsRevival Nitelife wants to expand and grow this website to be everything YOU want it to be. For starters, does anyone think a new user forum would be worth it, or is there already too much of that out there? We know there really isn’t such an animal catering to Sacramento nightlife anymore (since Napkin Nights got rid of their forums many years ago) and maybe that is because no one wants one. What do you think?
Kings Draft Cousins!
Posted by: | Comments
While we don’t usually cover sports here, the Kings are ours in Sacramento and most of the home games do happen at night, so why not? This is draft time and if the Kings hit on their draft pick like they did with Tyreke Evans last year, this squad is going to be a force for a long time to come! Instead of writing something ourselves, we’ll leave that in the capable hands of SactownRoyalty.com. Here’s the story…

Speaking of the Kings, don’t forget the Backroom is happening right next to Arco Area Saturday, June 26th and we have FREE guestlist for readers of the site (see below)!
June 26th: The Begining of a special event…
Posted by: | CommentsThe Backroom! The brand new event hosted by Revival Nitelife inside Morningstar Recordings’ Saturday weekly ‘ESCAPE’, the Backroom aims to be the only name you need to remember for the best vibe, party, music, and venue for all things underground dance music.
This month and every month going forward we’re doing it differently. No need to bring in some big name that probably isn’t as dope as what we’ve got going in Sac anyways… Sacramento favorites Sukh Banwait, (Lounge ON20), Bobby Martinez (Submerged), & Gavin Varitech (Mixture, Sexy Robots) keeping it real in the Backroom. Revival Nitelife will be bringing signature enhancements to the venue and has a limited guestlist.
This is the ONLY monthly underground music event, at a quality venue, on one of the best sound systems there is, in Sacramento. It will only get better and better from here!!!
FREE with Revival Guestlist B4 11:00PM
Gueslist also gets you into the other room at Fugu, playing top40 dance and mashups, video mixing, gogo dancers, and all that. Bring your friends that might not be ready for THE BACKROOM beats. Even if they don’t get down to what we are doing (how is that possible? haha) there is a whole other party going on at the club, and it’s all 100% free for everyone on the Revival Nitelife list…
Second Saturday destination?
Posted by: | CommentsBe sure to check out MXD/Mixture’s long-running 2nd Saturday event at Plum Blossom (corner of J & 19th) smack dab in the middle of all the 2nd Saturday festivities….
New weekly club night opening May 22nd: Escape with special guest DJ from LA!
Posted by: | CommentsThere is a brand new weekly dance event beginning weekly in Sacramento this weekend. ‘Escape’ inside the Fugu Lounge. If you haven’t heard of this venue it may be because it’s not in downtown/midtown like almost everything else. Fugu is actually in Natomas, very close to Arco Arena. On May 22nd the promoters of this all-new weekly bring us DJ Heavygrinder from LA, a very special guest (and expensive booking we assume) for the grand opening. A bit of a celeb DJ of sorts but not in the talent/music department where she puts those fake “celeb” deejays to shame, H.G. is a REAL deejay…
Make a cool drum machine and have social interaction at the same time!
Posted by: | CommentsIf you own a PC, a webcam, and have access to a printer you could make yourself a cool little DIY hardware step sequencer. The D-Touch Synth and Drum Machine is a software-based, hardware-controlled system where the hardware is absolutely free (you build it with paper, which means no confusing soldering or wires). Just print out the paper control surface, form the cubic control pieces and set up your webcam accordingly. When you move the pieces of paper horizontally or vertically, it changes the timing and other control parameters of your drums and samples…or samples for that matter. Could be a great social interaction tool if someone was looking to get a lot of attention/promotion during second Saturday events here in Sacramento.
